Can someone please actually post the error message otherwise I have no idea what is going wrong. Please just post the entire thing whether you think all of it is relevant or not.

I can't finish PTR support until I can actually work out what part of the program isn't working. The PTR installer is complaining of a CRC error so I can't test it myself.

It likes to happen after you directly exit WoW when Model Editing, If this happens to you, Just remove all your custom MPQs from your Data folder (Or you can keep them there and just mark them as hidden, the game wont pick up on them) and start WoW up without using the MEF, After that you should be able to log in and have everything be fine and dandy.

*edit* Confirmed to only be happening when Killing WoW's process or Exiting without giving it the 20 seconds. Confirmed to not be happening when logging out then leaving character screen then exiting the game.

That's a strange bug. I'm not sure what exactly could be causing it, I'll see if I can find anything that may be relevant.

I don't believe WoWTest is reading in patch-x.MPQ files at all... even without a MEF it doesn't do anything...

Thanks. And yeah if you load WoW without the MEF and WoW doesn't load your models and crash then they've updated their protection to stop loading the files. I'll take a look, reinstalling WoW atm so I can hopefully use the PTR client.

EDIT: If you're using the MEF as a launcher it automatically applies the fix, you don't need to use the "Find process" and "Patch" buttons, hence the error message you're getting (I assume). I'll update the program to make this more clear and fix the error regardless so it gives a meaningful message.

Yeah I figured as much... but it was the only thing I could get it to do

Anything I could do to help in the meantime while you're trying to get it setup?

I think that if you leave a model edit in your old WoW dir, that it will apply it to the test patches... perhaps I'll try that and then the MEF.

Okay, the Test model edit fix works, however you have to modify the existing .MPQ's, and can't just paste another into the Data folder.

    Thanks a ton DD

If this is true, I guess its time to Make up back up common.mpq etc.

Okay, I've worked out why the PTR client isn't loading custom MPQs. One of the MPQ loading functions has been changed to use an array of known MPQ names to load as opposed to loading anything in the form patch-?.mpq. Strangely enough this is the same 'protection' added to the PTR client a while back when I stopped model editing, but the weird thing was they reverted the change when the client went live. If I get time I'll write a PTR patch within the next couple of days, I've been busy with a lot of other work this week but I should have saturday fairly free for coding.
